Happy New Year

For the Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS), the year that is slowly fading away was filled with the abundance of significant activities and events. Together with all of you we made great strides in promoting standardization and standards implementation and application which contributes to the overall safety and security for the whole community.

To begin with, among these activities it is important to mention the opening of the info-centers for standards in regional chambers of commerce in six cities of the Republic of Serbia, then intensive educational activities in cooperation with the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing (UNMZ), followed by seminars on health and safety, various workshops and trainings for higher education institutions and NTC members and at the end, the team building that strengthened the collective spirit of ISS employees.

Additionally, ISS hosted several meetings of the CEN and CENELEC Technical Committees, as well as many trainings for public administration employees aimed at promoting information security standards, as well as the risk management and techniques of risk assessment. This was followed by the most important event that has attracted the most public attention - 85 years of standardization in this region, which was celebrated under the motto "Life in the standards world". At the end of October, the publication of the ISS study on the construction sector in Serbia, in cooperation with the UNMZ, also attracted considerable attention. And for the last months of this year, the Institute has prepared three new seminars intended for new users.

Considering that the greatest support and incentive to ISS and its activities was provided by our customers, business associates and partners, the end of this year is an excellent opportunity to thank all of you for the suggestions, remarks, support and cooperation you offered during 2019. At the same time, ISS employees would like to congratulate you all on the upcoming New Year and Christmas holidays, wishing that 2020 would set some new standards and bring success worthy of remembering!
