8th Balkan Conference on Standardization

Together with the representatives of standardization bodies from ten countries in the region, the representatives of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, Tatjana Bojanić, ISS Director, Violeta Nesković-Popović and Dragan Vuksanović, ISS Assistant Directors, participated this week at the 8th Balkan Conference on Standardization, in Tivat, Montenegro.

 

As in previous years, this year's Balkan Conference was also an opportunity for the representatives of national standardization bodies to exchange experience and good practice in different areas of standardization. Participants discussed the issue of cooperation of national standardization bodies in the region in the context of joint projects, then the issue of free movement of goods, as well as close cooperation with authorities and small and medium-sized enterprises. Also, the topic was the strategy and development of standardization in the region, as well as the achieving the financial stability of national standardization bodies by introducing new activities and services, which was mentioned by the ISS Director, citing numerous examples of new services and activities of the Standardization Institute of Serbia.

In addition, each year, a number of new members from the region join the Balkan Conference initiative, and this year, for the first time, the representatives of the standardization body from Cyprus participated.
